State of the DHCP service on the backup Windows Server? Empty
PostSubject: State of the DHCP service on the backup Windows Server?   State of the DHCP service on the backup Windows Server? Icon_minitimeTue Apr 13, 2010 7:53 am

On a Windows server, what state should the dhcp service on the backup server be in that has the dhcp redundancy service running? Should it be set to "Automatic" or "Manual"?

If it is set to "Automatic" and the server gets re-booted, it will start the dhcp service when it comes up. Will the dhcp redundancy service turn it off when it sees the primary dhcp server is still up?

Thank you.

Leave it on Automatic, the redundancy service will stop the dhcp service if the main service is up.
